Hi! My name is Lee Strickler. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have a wonderful husband, 2 children (a 15 yr. old son and 9 yr. old daughter), a huge cat named Bridger, and an energetic black lab mix named Orbit-he is very aptly named.lol.
I was a childcare provider in my home for a few years, and truly enjoyed being home for my kids and fell in love with my ?extra kids' they even called me ?Mama Lee', unfortunately, a car accident left me unable to physically handle the demands of childcare any longer (which broke my heart). Most of my work history also involved very physically demanding activities, so I had to begin looking for a new, challenging, and exciting way to make money to support my family, but still not over tax my body. I decided that my medical problems would not prevent me from having a successful career and achieving financial security for my family. I had looked at several businesses over the years, but with the loss of my income, I knew it was 'crunch time' and I needed to find something soon.
I began actively searching for just the right one for me and my family. I looked and looked and was beginning to think the right one didn't exist, either I didn't like the product or the marketing methods available or the big one for me, the start-up cost was completely beyond my financial means. Then, that moment came, in the most unusual combination of circumstances, and my life changed. I had passion and excitement...I couldn't wait to get started. Would you believe my husband found this amazing vegetable wax candle company with the yummiest (is that a word?) scents imaginable and no black mess? When we went to the Laundromat on Mother's Day to wash a comforter, yes ~ you read that right, the Laundromat on Mother's Day. He knew I was looking for a business and saw a brochure on a table and handed it to me and suggested I check it out. Well, I just shoved it in my purse without even looking at it...in fact I almost just threw it out ~ I was not too happy to be doing laundry on Mother's Day.
The next day I was cleaning out my purse and found the brochure and I began to glance through it. Then I read every word (a few times!) and was really intrigued...it almost sounded too good. A home business with a low start-up cost (under $50.00) and products I already loved, I mean who doesn't like candles, right? I called the toll free number listed and left a message, but I was too excited and wanted more information NOW. I went to the website and read everything, entered the candle drawing. By this time my mind was racing and all the possibilities were dancing around in my head! My passion was almost overwhelming and I just couldn't wait for a call. I signed up that night and haven't looked back since. I am not saying it happens over night, but planting the seeds and taking the steps to achieve my goals is very empowering and exciting.
